
Gymnastics Finishes Regular Season At New Hampshire

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State gymnastics team concludes the 2009 regular season on Sunday, March 15 when they travel to Durham, N.H., for a dual meet with New Hampshire. MSU holds a 21-5-1 all-time record against the Wildcats and have won the last seven.
The Spartans hosted two meets last weekend, falling to No. 8 Auburn 196.575-195.275 on Friday before taking first in a tri-meet with California and Ball State. MSU posted a season-high score against Auburn and senior Katlyn Roggensack tied her career-high in the all-around with a 39.100. The Spartans also took home the top two spots on the balance beam as Kelsey Morley and Nicole Curler took first and second with scores of 9.900 and 9.875, respectively, helping MSU to a season-high 48.975 on the apparatus.
MSU recorded a 195.050, its second-best score of the season in Sunday's tri-meet. Roggensack led MSU for the second-straight meet, claiming the all-around title for the first time this season. The Spartans recorded a season-high 49.175 on floor, with each Spartans scoring a 9.800 or better in the event. Sophomore Kathryn Mahoney highlighted the event, recording a career-high 9.925.
Junior Rochelle Robinson is ranked 24th-nationally on bars while sophomore Kelsey Morley ranks 20th on beam. Both rank first in the Big Ten on their respective events, while the Spartans are 27th-nationally as a team with a 194.665 RQS.
New Hampshire is coming off a third place finish in a quad meet at UC Davis, scoring a 192.525. Junior Helena Diodati led the team with a 9.800 on vault and a 9.825 on bars to finish third overall. Sophomore Katie Lawrence scored a team-high 9.825 on beam to take first and junior Taryn LaFountain placed second with a 9.800. The Wildcats are 15-7 on the season.
