Minnesota has now won six of the last eight meetings against Michigan State...MSU still leads the overall series, 25-17...the series is even at 11-11 in games played in Minneapolis...MSU has won 19 of the last 25 meetings.
Keshawn Martin collected 284 all-purpose yards, the sixth-highest total by a Spartan in MSU single-game history...Martin scored on a 93-yard kick return to open the second half, marking MSU's first kick return for a TD since Demond Williams ran back the opening kick 98 yards vs. Indiana in 2005...Martin also scored on an 84-yard reverse in the third quarter...overall, Martin had two catches for 22 yards, one rush for 84 yards, 176 kick return yards and two punt return yards.

Kirk Cousins recorded his fifth 200-yard passing game of the season, throwing for 236 yards on 21-of-35 attempts...he threw two TDs, including a 26-yard strike to Brian Linthicum in the second quarter and an 11-yard pass to Dion Sims in the third quarter...Cousins now has 12 passing touchdowns this season.
Michigan State outscored Minnesota in the third quarter, 21-7, and claimed its only lead of the game at 31-28 following Sims' 11-yard TD catch as time expired in the third...MSU has now outscored its opponents in the third quarter 76-30 (+46 points) this season; however, the Spartans were outscored in the fourth quarter, 14-3, and have been outscored in the fourth quarter 91-61 this season.
Greg Jones recorded double-figure tackles for the seventh time this season with 12...he also recorded a 2-yard sack...Jones now has 314 career tackles, which ties Carlos Jenkins for 14th all-time at MSU...Jones' 32 career tackles for loss now rank eighth in MSU history...Jones has 109 tackles for the season.
Brandon Denson recorded his first career interception...Denson ran back the pick 20 yards; the turnover set up MSU's first TD of the game (Cousins' 26-yard pass to Linthicum in the second quarter).
Brett Swenson kicked two 20-yard field goals and is now 14-of-15 in field-goal attempts this season...Swenson has made nine consecutive field goals.
B.J. Cunningham led the Spartans with five catches for 83 yards...the 83 receiving yards mark a career high...he collected 76 yards in two games last season (Eastern Michigan, Iowa).
Blair White caught four passes for 36 yards...he has caught at least one pass in 20 consecutive games.
Colin Neely recorded a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss (13 yards)...he was credited with a half sack (3 yards).
