Men's Golf Prepares for Firestone Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team readies for its fourth tournament of the Fall, as they travel to Akron, Ohio for the 2009 Firestone Invitational. The tournament, held at the Firestone Country Club North Course, is scheduled for three rounds, beginning with 36 on Monday and concluding with 18 on Tuesday. Both days at set to begin at 8:30 a.m. ET off holes 1 and 10.
Aside from the Spartans, the Firestone Invitational field includes host Akron, Eastern Michigan, Kansas State, Kentucky, Marquette, Maryland, Pacific, Rhode Island, St. Mary's College, Toledo and Western Carolina.
Michigan State is coming off a tie for fourth at the Rees Jones Intercollegiate this past Monday and Tuesday. Four Spartans finished in the top-25 led by freshman James Ross, who tied for ninth and posted his first top-10 finish in his career.
