EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State swimming and diving program will host the 53rd annual Alumni Meet on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. at Charles McCaffree Pool in the IM West building. Second only to the homecoming football game, the meet is the longest running event on campus.
"For me, the alumni meet is one of the high-points of the season," said head coach Matt Gianiodis. "So many of our former swimmers and divers come back, some with their families, and share their experiences with the current team members. We have such a connection with all the generations of Spartan swimmers and divers."
The event will also mark the seventh annual presentation of the William Heusner Memorial Service Award. This year's recipients will be: George Kruggel, Jennifer Parks, Bob Jones, Don Patterson and Rick Edwards. The award is presented in recognition for outstanding service and dedication to Michigan State University and support of the swimming and diving program.
