
Spartans Remain In-State for Wolverine Intercollegiate

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's golf team will look to make it two-straight wins to start the season, as it travels to Ann Arbor for the Wolverine Intercollegiate. Play will begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with 36 holes at the par-71, 6,704-yard U-M Golf Course, and conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
Joining the Spartans and the host Wolverines this weekend will be California, Colorado State, Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Gardner Webb, Iowa State, Missouri, Oakland, San Diego, Toledo, UC-Davis, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Xavier.
Michigan State will be paired with Colorado State and Missouri on Saturday. Competing for the Spartans this weekend will be seniors Jordan Ensrud and Randy Hutchison, junior Jack Newman, and sophomores Graham Baillargeon and Payne Gniewek. In addition, junior Andrew Ladwig will play as an individual.
MSU is coming off a team victory at the Spartan Classic, hosted at the Kingsley Club in Kingsley, Mich. last Sunday. Sophomore Graham Baillargeon beat junior Jack Newman on the first playoff hole for the individual title, after the pair posted three-under par 68 in the rain-shortened event. Senior Randy Hutchison tied for third with a 69.
