ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The MSU track & field team finished up competition in the final day of the Len Paddock Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, on Saturday afternoon. Red-shirt sophomore Tricia Kowalski turned in a strong performance for the Spartans, coming in second in the 200m dash with a time of 24.83, her second-best mark of the season.
In addition to Kowalski, senior Paris Mandy turned in a top-10 finish in the 200m, placing seventh (25.50), while also taking sixth place in the 100m dash (12.32).
Red-shirt freshman Ashley Lawrence claimed her second-best performance of the season in the discus, finishing in sixth place with a toss of 44.85m (147-2).
On the men's side, sophomore Anthony Agrusa placed sixth in the discus with a distance of 47.74 (156-7), while freshman Keith Hewlett took ninth place in the long jump with a leap of 6.69m (21-11 1/2).
Freshman Yury Ratomski turned in two top-10 performances in the final day of competition, placing fifth in the 200m dash (21.92), and sixth in the 100m event (10.91).
The Spartans travel to Champaign, Ill., next Friday for the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held May 16-18. The University of Illinois will play host.
