
Women's Swimming and Diving Hosts Houston on Friday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team will host the Houston Cougars at 3 p.m. Friday (Oct. 31) at McCaffree Pool inside IM West.
MSU enters the meet 0-3 on the year after dropping a narrow decision to Iowa last weekend in a meet that came down to the final event. Okemos native Becca Ebner has been the Spartans' best swimmer so far this season as she has won all six butterfly events she has competed in this year.
Houston enters Friday's meet at 2-0 after opening their season last weekend.
Notes
Recapping Iowa
The Spartans narrowly dropped an eight-point decision to the Hawkeyes as the meet came down to the last event. Stephanie Fisher, Kerry Sodonis, Heather Kiluk and Becca Ebner all recorded at least one first-place finish. Senior Danielle Williams won the three-meter dive.
Ebner Six-for-Six
Through three meets, sophomore Becca Ebner has won all six butterfly events she has competed in this year. Her best times of the year came against Minnesota when she won the 100 fly with a time of 56.36 and the 200 fly with a time of 2:04.50.
Off to a Good Start
In just her second-career meet, freshman Kerry Sodonis swam to a first-place finish in the 100 free last week against Illinois with a time of 53.48. Last week against Iowa, she won the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
Qualifiers
Divers Sarah Clay and Kayla Kalmbach both qualified for NCAA Zones last week on the three-meter board after they scored 309.00 and 292.13, respectively, against Illinois.

The MSU men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be back in action Nov. 14 at Grand Valley State.
