
Spartans Cross Country Teams Compete in EMU Open

EAST LANSING, Mich. -
Selected runners from Michigan State's men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday (Oct. 24) in the EMU Open, hosted by Eastern Michigan University.
Sophomore Kelsey Meyers was the top finisher for MSU, taking fourth place in the women's race with a time of 18:24. Junior Jen Hamilton wasn't far behind, taking seventh with a time of 18:56. MSU secured the 13th-16th positions, as Diane Hamilton (19:11), Thereseann Zimmerman (19:12), Tiffany Evans (19:17) and Jen Yee (19:21) all finished in consecutive order.
Senior Jackie Gross finished the 5k course in 19:49 to round out the field's top-20 finishers.
Sophomore Nick Tecca was the only Spartan to run on the men's side, taking 13th place with a time of 32:35.
The Spartans return to action at the Big Ten Championship on Nov. 2 in Ann Arbor.
