
Volleyball Blows Past Delaware State, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. - Michigan State volleyball (6-3) continued to dominate its Harvard Invitational competition Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of Delaware State at the Lavietes Pavilion, 30-12, 30-27, 30-13. The shut out is the fifth for the Green and White this season and also marks the sixth-straight victory.
The Spartans outplayed Delaware State outright and led every statistical category. MSU totaled 47 kills, 53 digs and 11 blocks through the three games. MSU tallied 22 block assists, a season high as a team.
Ashley Schatzle led the team in kills with 12 while her sister Megan Schatzle tallied a career-high four kills. Aiding the offensive domination, Katie Johnson served up two aces to give the senior a total of 17 this season and 47 in her career.
Anchoring the defensive effort was senior Miken Trogdon who gave a career-best effort with 17 digs. Also earning career high numbers was Lauren O'Reilly with eight block assists.
The Spartans continue action at the Harvard Invitational tonight facing Harvard in the tournament's final match at 7 p.m.
