The team's total of 589 is four strokes behind Notre Dame (294-291--585) and three ahead of
MSU's top-three shooters all improved on their first round by at least five strokes. Steve Cuzzort leads the Spartans with a score of 146 (+2, 76-70) that ties him for 13th overall. Just one stroke behind at 147 (+3) are teammates Ryan Brehm (76-71) and Randy Hutchison (80-67). The only round better than Hutchison's 67 was a 66 posted by tournament leader Danny Zimmerman of Wisconsin (-8, 66-70--136).
Jack Newman was the most consistent Spartan with two identical rounds of 75. Grant Tungate posted a 155 with rounds of 79 and 76 for MSU.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with one final round of play, set to tee off at 8 a.m.
