
Women's Tennis Sends Three to W&M Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's tennis opens its 2007-08 campaign Sept. 14-16 at the William & Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Pa. Representing the Spartans are juniors Stephanie Kebler and Ana Milosavljevic and freshman Manon Noe. Action will take place at the Busch Courts, the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center, the Rec. Courts and Kiwanis Courts.
William & Mary welcomes 13 programs to the event including Arkansas, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Marshall, Maryland, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Richmond, Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth. The tournament features six singles and three doubles draws, which include 87 singles players and 40 doubles teams. In total, 13 ranked singles players will take part in the event.
"We are really excited to be sending players this fall to the William & Mary Invitational," said head coach Erica Perkins. "Year in and year out it is one of the premier college tournaments on the East Coast. As a team, we have worked very hard these first few weeks, and I am excited to see how we fare against some very tough teams from the East and Southeast."
Kebler will play singles through Flight C and faces William & Mary's Magdalena Bresson Friday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. MSU's junior posted a 15-17 mark in singles and 19-13 record in doubles last seaon. In Flight D, Noe will face her first collegiate competitor, Princeton's Sarah Huah, at 12 p.m. Friday, and Milosavljevic plays at Jen Keiner of Cincinnati at 11:15 a.m. Friday. Milosavljevic wrapped up 2006-07 with a 14-12 record in singles and 18-11 in doubles.
In doubles action, Kebler and Milosavljevic take on Old Dominion's Daniela Cohen and Barbara Costa at 9:15 Friday morning in Flight B, following Noe's Flight C match against Richmond's Emese Kardhordo and Isabel Arana. Noe is partnered with Arkansas' Melissa Hoffmeister.
