Spartan Second Eight Named Big Ten Boat Of The Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State second varsity eight was named the Big Ten Boat of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday. The crew of coxswain Tamara Yantovsky, Ashley Peach, Emily Regan, Sarah Kreft, Jenna Peters, Kate Taylor, Danica Bevan, Ashley Wenneman and Lauren Gamble earned the honor after capturing MSU's lone victory over Yale and Radcliffe this past weekend.
The Green and White turned in a time of 6:53.4, outsprinting Yale to finish just 1.8 seconds ahead of the Bulldogs (6:55.2), and third-place finisher Radcliffe (7:00.5). With the victory, the Spartan second eight improved its record to 8-1 against all crews this season.
