CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami-Fla. (13-6) scored five runs in the sixth inning, downing Michigan State (3-5) baseball, 9-4, Wednesday night in Coral Gables, Fla. Tied at three heading into the bottom half of the sixth, Jon Jay cracked a lead-off solo home run, jumpstarting the Hurricane offense. Miami had six players record multi-hit games.
The two teams traded runs in the first inning. Miami took its first lead in the fourth when Dennis Raben stroked a long single to right, scoring Yonder Alonso from first base. Eddy Rodriguez followed with a double to score Raben as the `Canes took a 3-1 lead.

Tied 3-3, the Miami offense used the big sixth inning to push past MSU, led by Jay's home run, scoring five runs on six hits and one error.
The Green and White attempted a comeback in the seventh inning, loading the bases and producing one run as Steve Gerstenberger scored on the Hurricane's second passed ball of the night, but the Spartan rally fell short. Miami put a final run on the board in the eighth inning for the 9-4 victory.
