EAST LANSING, Mich. - The conference office announced its All-Big Ten teams and sportsmanship award winners at the men's soccer banquet on Nov. 2. Senior defenseman Greg Janicki was named All-Big Ten First Team, while senior midfielder Matt Kreikemeier and junior forward Kenzo Webster were named to the Second Team. Kreikemeier was also MSU's recipient of the sportsmanship award.
A three-year starter at stopper, Janicki tallied the first goal of his career on Oct. 18 against Valparaiso. Janicki followed in the next outing with the second goal of his career, a header against Northwestern. Janicki earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his two game-winning goals. He also has one assist on the season.
A co-captain in 2006, Kreikemeier has scored six goals this season. Four of those goals have been generated on penalty kicks, as he has been perfect from the spot this season. Kreikemeier has played in every game in the past four years, starting in the last three.
Webster, who scored two goals in 2005, has tallied seven of MSU's 23 goals this season, including three game-winners. He leads the team in goals and points, adding one assist for a total of 15. Webster was also named to Soccer America's Team of the Week and Offensive MVP (Sept. 13) after netting all three goals in MSU's 1-0 decision over VCU and 2-0 win over Butler at the Wolverine Invitational earlier in the year.
