Michigan State Gymnastics Takes Fourth In Quad-Meet

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State gymnastics posted a team total of 193.675 to claim fourth place, falling to Auburn (194.900), West Virginia (194.600) and Kent State (103.725) at West Virginia on Sunday, March 6.
Junior tri-captain Sarah Alexander was a highlight performer for MSU, leading the team on vault (9.750), tying with senior Lauren Simpson for the team-lead on beam (9.825) and ranking second for the Spartans on the floor (9.850). Alexander also captured fourth place in the all-around, as she tallied 39.075.
Sophomore Chayla Hill also had a particularly impressive day, leading her team on the floor with a 9.875 performance. Hill had 9.675 on vault, as did junior Leia Langhoff, tying them for second place on the team in that event.
In addition to tying Alexander for the lead (9.825) on beam, Simpson came out on top for MSU on bars, posting 9.725, while Kristen Coleman had 9.700.
The Spartans return home to host Illinois State and the University of Illinois-Chicago for a Saturday meet on March 12. Competition is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
