EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Spartan men's and women's swimming and diving teams will take on Ball State, Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. in Muncie, Ind. Last year, the two schools met in East Lansing, with both Green and White teams coming away with a win.
"Laura Seibold-Caudill, the women's coach there used to swim here at Michigan State," commented head coach Matt Gianiodis. "We don't mind going down there, they have been great hosting us and of course they always have a high level of competition. The biggest thing is to be able to get down there and perform well and get back for exams."
"We had a hard week of work and we have really upped the practice level to raise the intensity," Gianiodis added. "It will be interesting to see how the kids do and if they are able to take that intensity into the meet."
Saturday's meet will be the last of the competition in 2005 for the Spartans. State will take a break from the cold Michigan weather, traveling to Nassau, Bahamas the first of the new year. The men and women take on conference rival Indiana on Jan. 1, and the women conclude the trip, facing Nebraska on Jan. 6.
