EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State recently announced it will hold two winter baseball camps. A Holiday Instructional Skills Camp will be conducted Dec. 17-18 and a Pro Scout Developmental Camp will run Jan. 14-15. For full details and to register for a camp, please visit the Top 9 Baseball Camp link on the highlights sidebar of the baseball page.
The Holiday Instructional Skills Camp (Dec. 17-18) is for individuals who desire to learn basic baseball fundamentals and wish to be evaluated by the entire MSU coaching staff. Players from grades 1-12 will receive instruction in all phases of the game; catching, fielding, hitting and pitching. The camp will be broken into two groups; fielding & hitting and pitching & catching. Those that desire to pitch and play a position will have that option. Cost of the Holiday Instructional Skills Camp for pitching and catching is $150.00 per camper, while attending as both a pitcher and a postional player is $225.
The second of the two camps is a Pro Scout Developmental Camp (Jan. 14-15), which provides an excellent opportunity for athletes to showcase their abilities in front of professional scouts and to be evaluated by the MSU coaching staff. The Pro Scout Developmental Camp is designed for 10th-12th graders who have aspirations of playing at the highest level of collegiate and/or professional baseball. A handful of Major League Baseball scouts will be in attendance, along with the entire Michigan State baseball staff. Cost of the Pro Scout Developmental Camp is $225.
Questions regarding the camps can be directed to the Michigan State Baseball Office at (517) 355-4486.
