
Michigan State Women's Soccer Plays To Draw At Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Midfielder Adrienne Treado (Sr./Troy) scored a goal for the first time since her freshman season as the Michigan State women's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie at Iowa on Friday at the Iowa Soccer Complex in Iowa City, Iowa. It is the first draw of the season for MSU, which is now 7-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Big Ten. Iowa is now 0-5-2 and 0-2-1 in conference play.
The Hawkeyes took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute on a header by Lindsey Phillips, but Treado scored at the 59:56 mark on a header off an assist by midfielder Ashley Lawson (Sr./Burlington, Ontario) from a corner kick to tie the game for MSU.
The Spartans took one shot in the first overtime, and held off two shots by the Hawkeyes in the second overtime to end the game. Michigan State held the advantage in shot attempts and corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Erin Carlson (Portage) had five saves for MSU.
The Spartans will continue their road trip with a Big Ten contest at Minnesota on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 2:30 p.m.
