Michigan State Wrestling Falls To No. 4 Michigan

East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State wrestling remained without a victory in Big Ten action with a 31-6 loss to No. 4 Michigan Friday in Ann Arbor at Cliff Keen Arena. The Spartans fall to 1-7, 0-3 in the Big Ten.
MSU's Andy Simmons won the 141-pound match, defeating Clark Forward 4-2 to give the Spartans their first points of the match. Nate Mesyn picked up the only other victory, defeating Josh Weitzel, 3-0, at 184 pounds.
Despite the margin of victory, Michigan State kept the individual bouts within reach, posting just one loss by major decision and two losses by pin.
The Spartans travel to Iowa City, Iowa, to face the No. 10 Hawkeyes Sunday. Simmons then competes at the NWCA All-Star Classic in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Monday. Simmons will face Northern Iowa's Dylan Long in the Classic.
