Adelaine Paces Women's Track Team at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Sarah Adelaine (Jr., Harbor Springs) of the Michigan State women's track team took first place, Friday (April 25), at the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays in the hammer throw, with a toss of 174-09 ?. She beat her next closest opponent, Andrea Karpala of Detroit, by over six feet. Adelaine also took third place in the shot put with a throw of 44-06 ? while State's Erica Bailey (Fr., Milwaukee, Wisc.) placed sixth in the event with a throw of 43-01 ?.
Other top performers for the Spartans included Danielle Linenger (So., Washington), who took sixth in the high jump, clearing 5-04 ?, and Erin Alexander (Sr., Grand Blanc), who took seventh in the long jump with a leap of 18-01 ?.
The final day of competition will be Saturday (April 26).
