Track Squads Complete Competition At Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Athletes from the men's and women's Michigan State track teams competed in the final day of competition at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., Saturday, April 12.
Steve Manz (Jr., West Branch) turned in the best Spartan performance of the day, breaking his own school record of 59-08 ? in the shot put by unleashing a throw of 60-11 ? Saturday. His throw was good for third in the invitational shot put. Manz now owns the school record in the indoor and outdoor shot put.
In the women's long jump, Sherita Williams (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) tied for 14th, jumping 18-07. Sarah Adelaine (Jr., Harbor Springs) recorded a throw of 44-09 ? in the shot put, placing her 16th.
Next Saturday (April 19) the men's track team will compete in the Bronco Open in Kalamazoo, Mich., while the women's track team is not scheduled to compete.
