Men's Track Begins Competition At Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Michigan State men's track team returned to action this week after not competing last weekend due to poor weather. The Spartans resumed their outdoor season Friday (April 11) at the Sea Ray Relays on the campus of the University of Tennessee.
Freshman Brad Gebauer (Bad Axe) was the top-Spartan finisher on the day, placing third along with four others, in the pole vault, clearing a height of 16-00 ?.
Steve Manz (Jr., West Branch), who was recently named MVP of the men's track team, took 11th in the discus with a toss of 152-03. Andy Lixey (Sr., East Tawas) placed 20th in the 800 with a time of 1:51.74.
Competition will conclude Saturday, with events scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m.
