Spartan Gymnastics Tops Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Michigan State gymnastics team posted the second-highest score of the season, posting a 195.250 to top Pittsburgh (194.650) on Saturday, March 15, at the Fitzgerald Field House in Pittsburgh, Pa.
It was the uneven bars that clinched the win for the Spartans, as MSU took four of the top five spots. Senior Diana Crea (Beaver Falls, Pa.) won the event with a 9.925 and freshman Sarah Alexander (Kernersville, N.C.) finished second with a 9.875.
Alexander won the vault with a 9.900, while senior Christy Linder (Fremont, Ohio) finished second with a 9.800. Senior Julie Devaty (North Olmstead, Ohio) finished second on the beam with a 9.800.
The Spartans will conclude the regular season with another meet against Pittsburgh on Saturday, March 22. The two teams will meet at Jenison Field House in a tri-meet with Michigan at 7 p.m.
