EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State volleyball will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6 in Jenison Field House. The Spartans (19-11) will face Dayton (25-9) in the first round game Friday at 8 p.m. Nebraska (26-4) and Valparaiso (27-7) will square off in the other first round game at 5 p.m.
"I'm so excited," said head coach Chuck Erbe. "I'm just so happy we're staying home. We're fortunate to host. It's good to stay home in our own beds."
2003 marks the Spartans' 10th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, and they are one of just 13 schools in the nation to have made 10 straight appearances in the tournament.
Were MSU to advance to the Regionals, held Dec. 12-13, it would travel to Lincoln, Neb. The National Championships are scheduled for Dec. 18-20 in Reunion Arena in Dallas.
Ticket information will be announced later in the week.
