Q: When did you start playing soccer?
A: I started playing when I was three years old, but I hated it because my mom would make me wear corduroys under my shorts. I got burns on my legs so I quit. Then I started playing again in third grade because all of my friends were playing, and then I just kept on playing.
Q: What were some of the factors that made you decide to come to Michigan State?
A: I visited other schools but none of them seemed like the right fit for me. So then I looked into (Michigan) State. I already knew it was a nice school and my teammate whom I had played with for years, Andrea (Sied), committed here. I just have the utmost respect for her and she was probably the final decision that helped me commit here.
Q: List three attributes that describe yourself.
A: Hard worker, strong and fast.
Q: Describe your career at Michigan State.
A: It has been a wonderful experience. I am so glad I chose to come here. I think it was the right fit for me. I liked coming here because I had the opportunity to be a starter and an impact player my freshman year, which I wanted so I could help change the program around. I love the school and the people here. I am having a good time and enjoying myself, I don't want it to end so soon.
Q: What kind of relationship do you share with your coaches?
A: It's a good relationship. If you have problems, you can go to them. They are very understanding about school and family and how those come before soccer, which is so nice.
Q: What has been your favorite thing about being a student-athlete?
A: I enjoy meeting all types of people and other athletes. I have just been able to meet so many new people and it has just been awesome that I have been able to make new friends. There are just so many perks.
Q: How is it having your sister, Linsey, here at MSU?
A: It is nice having my sister here. Sometimes we fight a little bit, but for the most part I like having her here. It is nice for my parents, and it is good to be around her.
Q: After you graduate, what advice would you give your sister about soccer to better her game?
A: Go out, run hard and work hard-just go out there and do it.
Q: What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
A: Just go out there and give it all you've got. Give 100% and don't be afraid of the ball or anyone else.
Q: What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
A: It goes by fast, have a good time while you are here. Soccer-wise, just get out there and try every minute. Even though you are a freshman, don't be intimidated by the seniors. Get out there and beat them up if you have to.
Q: How would you like to be remembered after your career?
A: I would like to be remembered as being a member of the first team to win a Big Ten Championship at Michigan State and being a member of the team that has gone the furthest in the NCAA Tournament. Personally, I want to be remembered as being a team leader and giving everything that I've got.
