Women's Tennis Players Invited To ITA Midwest Regionals

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Four members of the Michigan State women's tennis team were selected to compete in the ITA Midwest Regionals Oct. 23-28 hosted by Western Michigan University.
Senior Caroline Lay (Brisbane, Australia) will compete in the singles main draw, which begins Saturday (Oct. 25) at 10:30 a.m. with the round of 64. Lay will also team with freshman Sarah Andrews (Darwin, Australia) in the doubles main draw, which gets underway Friday (Oct. 24) at 2 p.m. with the round of 64.
Also participating in the doubles main draw will be the duo of sophomore Shelley Brady (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and junior Karen Gustafson (East Lansing, Mich.). Brady and Andrews were also invited to compete in the qualifying singles draw in hopes of advancing to the main draw. The qualifying singles draw starts with the round of 64 next Thursday (Oct. 23) at 9 a.m.
All singles and doubles main draw matches will be played at Western Michgan's West Hills Athletic Club. All singles and doubles consolation draw matches will be played at the Markin Racquet Center on Kalamazoo College's campus.
