Carly Weiden Advances To NCAA Championships in Three-Meter Dive

West Lafayette, Ind. - Senior Carly Weiden (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) qualified for the NCAA Championships in the three-meter dive in day two of the NCAA Diving Regionals, Zone C, hosted by Purdue University. Her fifth-place finish with a score of 474.95 advances Weiden to compete in the one and three-meter boards at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Tex.
Junior Stephanie Anisko (Mississauga, Ontario/Philip Pocock) and freshman Kelly Baldwin (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams) also competed in the three-meter event, but were unable to qualify for the championships in their first NCAA regional showing. Anisko took 27th-place with a score of 218.70, while Baldwin finished 40th at 158.85.
Nick Visscher (Holland, Mich./Holland) represented the Spartans in men's diving, but was unable to advance with a score 395.05 on the three-meter board.
The 2002 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship meet will be hosted by the University of Texas, March 21-23.
