EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will begin competition Friday, Oct. 25, in Bloomington, Ind., in a dual-meet competition with Indiana. The meet, which will take place at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center, will start at 5 p.m. CST.
The women's season will start one day later (Oct. 21) in Champaign, Ill., when the Spartans face Illinois, Southern Illinois and Missouri. The MSU men will join the women in Illinois with a double-dual meet against Southern Illinois and Missouri. Events will begin at 10 a.m. CST at the Intramural Physical Eduation Building.
"We're competitive with Indiana," head coach Jim Lutz said about the upcoming weekend. "They have a new coach and their diving is phenomenal. Missouri always competes well, even early in the season and Illinois has good individuals, who have done well at the conference level. And while Southern Illinois may be young, they are very good. We will all be very evenly matched."
