WELCOME BACK This week's action for Michigan State will be the first competition since the Big Ten Indoor Championships in November. This will also be the opening match for WSU while UWGB travels to Western Michigan Friday.
FRESHMEN PHENOMS Freshmen Andy Formanczyk and Cameron Marshall recorded team best 12-6 and 8-6 singles records, respectively, for the fall.
GETTING HEALTHY Junior Todd Townsend (shoulder) and sophomore Eric Simonton (elbow) will see their first action since the 2001 spring season after injuries sidelined them in the fall.
REGIONAL STANDOUTS Juniors Goran Topalo, Jimmy McGuire and Adam Hourani, sophomore Chris Mitchell and Formanczyk and Marshall participated in October's ITA Regional Championships in East Lansing. UWGB's Robert Shamelikian, Mike Halberg and Barry Hankel and Wright State's Chad Derry, Chad Camper and Jim Grombacher also represented their teams.
WILL THEY MEET AGAIN? The duo of Hourani and McGuire defeated Halberg and Hankel, 8-1, in the first round of the regional tournament. Michigan State's lone doubles pair eventually fell to Ball State in the second round.
