Men's Soccer Falls To Bowling Green, 3-1

East Lansing, Mich. - The MSU men's soccer team fell to Bowling Green, Monday, Sept. 17 by a score of 3-1 at Old College Field. The game was a rescheduling of the match between the Spartans and Falcons that was supposed to be played Sept. 7 but was postponed due to poor weather.
Bowling Green jumped out to a 1-0 just 3:33 into the first half when Matt Leardini scored unassisted. The Falcons made it 2-0 at 37:15 when Jon Hundley scored off a header in the box.
The Spartans got on the board in the 42nd minute when Thomas Treveloni (So., Mt. Clemens) scored to cut the lead in half, 2-1. Jordan Gruber (Fr., Beverly Hills) recorded the lone assist.
In the second half, the Spartans applied constant pressure on the Falcons but were unable to find the back of the net. Bowling Green's Tim Butler put the game away, scoring in the 86th minute to make the final score 3-1. In the game, State recorded 16 shots while BGSU had 14.
This weekend, MSU travels to Valparaiso Friday, Sept. 21 and heads to Indiana, Sunday, Sept. 23.
