Women's Tennis Drops Match to No. 27 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State women's tennis team was defeated by No. 27 Ohio State today (Apr. 8), 6-1, in Columbus. MSU's record is now 6-12 overall and 0-7 in the Big Ten.
In doubles action, OSU's Kristy Dascoli and Monica Rincon led the Buckeyes defeating freshmen Trine Lise Juliussen (Oslo, Norway) and Caroline Lay (Brisbane, Australia) at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. OSU won all three doubles matches to take the team point.
In singles play, sophomore Mollie Hood (Bellaire, Mich.) won her match against Erica Fisk (OSU), 6-4, 6-4, to give the Spartans their single point of the day. Senior Natasha Skogerboe (Coon Rapids, Minn.) had a close match against Monica Rincon (OSU), but lost 6-4, 7-5.
The Spartans return to play on Saturday, April 14 at home against Iowa. The match is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
