Women's Tennis Falls to No. 28 Iowa

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to No. 28 Iowa Saturday (Apr. 14) at home, 7-0. The loss drops MSU's overall season record to 6-13 and 0-8 in Big Ten play.
In the doubles competition, senior Natasha Skogerboe (Coon Rapids, Minn.) and sophomore Mollie Hood (Bellaire, Mich.) defeated Iowa's Megan Kearney and Jody Scheldt, 8-1, at the No. 2 position. Despite the MSU win at No. 2 doubles, Iowa took wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions to take the team point.
In singles play, Deni Alexandrova (UI) defeated freshman Caroline Lay (Brisbane, Australia) at the No. 1 position 6-2, 6-0. The Hawkeyes completed their sweep by winning at every other position as well.
MSU will finish its regular season on the road against Purdue (Sat., Apr. 21) and No. 41 Indiana (Sun., Apr. 22) before heading to the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio on April 26-29.
