Carly Weiden Named Big Ten Diver Of The Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior Carly Weiden (Kentwood) was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 4). Weiden took first place last weekend in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events as the Spartans won the Miami (Ohio) Invitational with 1,406.50 points. Weiden scored a 299.55 in the one-meter and a 486.49 in the three-meter.

Weiden, the 2001 Co-Big Ten Diver of the Year, has finished in first or second place in the one-meter and three-meter events in each of MSU's five dual meets this season.

The MSU women's swimming and diving team returns to action Jan. 2-3 at the Rainbow Invitational in Honolulu.
