Spartans' Robinson Named Conference Player of the Week

East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer goalkeeper Mike Robinson was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 8. The Troy, Mich., native earned the honors after a seven-save shutout performance in MSU's 3-0 win over then 15th-ranked Ohio State on Sunday. The Spartan sophomore now has three shutouts on the season, two of which have come in Big Ten play.
Robinson has started eight of the Spartans nine games in 2001 and posts a 1.11 GAA along with a .727 save percentage. He was the first Spartan recipient of the award this season. In Big Ten games those numbers improve to 1.00 GAA and a .786 save percentage.
The Spartans will host Oakland, Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. at Old College Field.
