Spartans Shutout at Penn State, 4-0

East Lansing, Mich. - The Michigan State women's soccer team fell at Penn State before a record crowd of 1,270 by a score of 4-0 Friday night. The Spartans are now 1-3-1 in the Big Ten and 4-4-2 overall, while Penn State improves to 3-0-1 in the conference and 7-2-1 overall.
The Nittany Lions scored twice within the first eight minutes and again once more near the end of the half, making the score 3-0 at the intermission. Penn State added another goal in the 67th minute, making the final score 4-0.
A stifling Penn State defense held the Spartans to just one shot in the game. MSU goalkeeper Stacy Heller (So., Madison, Wis.) made nine saves.
The Spartans will play at Ohio State Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
