Women's Golf Finishes Ninth At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Michigan State women's golf team finished ninth at the Lady Paladin Invitational Sunday, Oct. 28. The Spartans shot a 311-303-308-922 in the three-day tournament. Auburn captured first with a 299-300-294-893, while Wake Forest took second (299-302-296-897).
Senior Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) led the Spartans, finishing tied for fourth overall. Bastel, who started the tournament with a tie for 15th place on Friday, carded a 76-73-74-223 for the tournament. Louisiana State's Meredith Duncan took medalist honors, finishing first (72-72-73-216), while Wake Forest's Nuria Clau finished second (72-73-74-219).
Senior Stacy Snider (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grandville) shot a 77-77-76-230, to tie for 21st. Sophomore Sarah Martin (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) turned in a 78-75-80-233 to finish tied for 35th. Junior Allison Fouch (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) finished tied for 50th (80-78-78-236), while junior Jessica Till (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) tied for 80th with a 80-83-82-245.
The Spartans will conclude the fall season at the Pine Needles Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C., Nov. 5-6.
