Arrington Lifts Women's Soccer Over Detroit, 3-0

Detroit, Mich. - The Michigan State women's soccer team defeated Detroit 3-0 Sunday to improve to 8-7-2 on the season. Sophomore Kristi Arrington (Novi) played a part in all three MSU goals, as she scored the first two and assisted on the third. Detroit falls to 6-10 on the season.
Arrington scored her first goal of the game in the 24th minute off a pass from Michelle Perun (Rochester). The Spartans capitalized again just five minutes later off a corner kick when Arrington made it 2-0. Tiffany Laskowski (Troy) drew the lone assist.
MSU made the final score 3-0 in the 67th minute when Trisha Kenny (Saginaw) scored off a pass from Arrington.
The Spartan defense proved to be solid all day as they surrendered just five shots to the Titans. MSU starting goalkeeper Stacy Heller (Madison, Wis.) recorded two saves in playing 78 minutes, while Erin Carlson (Portage) played the final 12 minutes.
MSU will close out the regular season Friday, Nov. 2, vs. Kent State at 3 p.m. at Old College Field.
