KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Michigan State women's golf team sits in ninth place following day two of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate Saturday (Oct. 13). The Spartans shot a two-round score of 299-310--609 at the Gettysvue Polo, Golf and Country Club. Georgia (294-300--594) and Duke (293-302--595) lead the tournament.
MSU junior Allison Fouch (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) shot a 69-79-148 for the two rounds. Fouch's 3-under score Friday (Oct. 12) was a career-best round. Duke's Leigh Anne Hardin remains in first place at 67-77-144.
Senior Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio/Upper Sandusky) is tied for 20th with a 75-76--151, junior Jessica Till (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger is tied for 40th (77-79--156), junior Ann Marie Kersten (Oak Harbor, Ohio/Oak Harbor) is tied for 54th with a score of 83-76-159, and senior Stacy Snider is tied for 60th (78-83-161).
Action at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate will conclude Sunday (Oct. 4) with 18 holes.
