Spartans Shine In Summer League

EAST LANSING, MI - As the summer rolls to a close, four MSU baseball players have returned from their stint in the Valley Baseball League. Juniors Kevin Crews, Kyle Geswein and Chris McCuiston, along with sophomore Brett Wattles competed in this NCAA-sanctioned league for the Front Royal Cardinals.

Both Geswein and McCuiston were ranked in the top five in six offensive categories for the Cardinals, with Geswein leading the team in slugging percentage (.507), hits (36), RBI (27), doubles (9), triples (1) and home runs (7). Geswein was also named to the as a All Star in the north division of the league. He led the league in slugging percentage (.507) and his .296 batting average was tenth.
