Spartan Swimming Gets New Assistant

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan head swimming coach, Richard Bader, gave the thumbs up on the hire of Christie Shefchunas as a new assistant coach. Shefchunas comes to the MSU from the Chartiers Valley Swim Club, where she has served as the head coach for the past year. She also was an assistant coach at Oakland Catholic and Central High School outside of Pittsburgh.
Shefchunas completed for the lady Vol swim team at the University of Tennessee, were she was four-time All-American. She was a three-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships and a two time Pennsylvania state champion.
Shefchunas earned her bachelor degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee.
