Men's Golf Travels To Big Ten Championship

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Spartan men's golf team will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., this weekend, May 5-7, to compete in the Big Ten Championship. The tournament is being hosted by Purdue and will be played at the par-72, 6,906-yard Kampen Course. The action will begin at 12:30 Friday with 18 holes, 36 holes on Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m., and the final round on Sunday which will begin at 8 a.m. Northwestern is the defending champion.
Competing for the Spartans will be Brent Goik (Jr., Bay City, Mich.), Dennis Riedel (Jr., St. Clair, Mich.), Nathan Clark (So., Mason, Mich.), Eric Jorgensen (Fr., Big Rapids, Mich.) and Carlos Foulquie (Sr., Madrid, Spain). MSU tied for third at the Bruce Fossum Invitational last weekend, shooting 294-286-305=885.
In their only other action this season at Purdue's Kampen Course, the Spartans tied for fourth out of 13 teams and shot 897.
