Weiden Finishes 17th In The Nation

Michigan State sophomore Carly Weiden (Kentwood, Mich.) finished 17th in the nation in the 1-meter dive at the U.S. National Indoor Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., Thursday, April 20. Weiden competed in the quarterfinals.
The last Spartan diver to compete in the U.S National Indoor Competition was Julie Farrell-Ovenhouse in 1989. Farrell-Ovenhouse won the 1-meter title in 1989 and also competed in the U.S. National Outdoor Diving Championships in 1990, finishing fourth on the 1-meter and 12th on the 3-meter dive.
