Spartans At The Big Ten Championships - Day Two

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's swimming and diving team remains in 11th place at the Big Ten Championships after the second day of competition in Indianapolis, Ind. The Spartans have earned 82 points in the first 14 events. Minnesota leads the competition with 410.50 points.
Freshman Katie Duncombe (Erie, Pa.) led the Spartans in the swimming events with a 14th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.65.
Scoring 410.20 points in the 3-meter dives, sophomore Carly Weiden (Kentwood, Mich.) finished in 12th place for the Spartans. Freshman Stephanie Anisko (Mississauga, Ontario) and redshirt freshman Summer Mitchell (Troy, Mich.) finished in 15th and 16th place, respectively.
Top Day One MSU Finishers:
* Mitchell takes 6th in the 1-meter dives with a score of 385.40.
* Dianne Oliver produces a seventh-place finish in the 50 freestyle (23.40).
* Anisko earned 13th place in the 1-meter dive (328.60).
* Weiden finished 14th in the 1-meter dive with 328.10 points.
* Duncombe took 14th place in the 200 individual medley (2:05.47).
The Big Ten Championships will continue Saturday, Feb. 19. Preliminaries start at 11 a.m., and finals begin at 7 p.m.
