Men's Soccer Travels To California This Weekend

EAST LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State men?s soccer team (2-1-1) travels to California this weekend for first-ever matchups against St. Mary?s (CA) and California.
On Friday, the Spartans face St. Mary?s (CA) in Moraga, Calif. at 4:00 p.m. EDT. St. Mary?s is 1-3 on the season, but is coming off an upset victory over fifth-ranked Davidson (Division II).
Sunday, the Spartans travel to Berkeley to play to the 23rd-ranked California Golden Bears. The Bears are 3-0-1 on the season. Last weekend, Cal claimed the Old Dominion Stihl Soccer Classic by defeating Old Dominion, 2-1, in overtime.
After completing the Cal trip, Michigan State will have one week to prepare for its Big Ten opener. The Spartans face defending national champion Indiana on Sept. 26.
