Women's Soccer Blanked by Michigan.

East Lansing, Mich. - Four different players scored for Michigan this afternoon as the Wolverines posted a 4-0 decision over Michigan State in women's soccer action. The game was played at Old College Field on the MSU campus.
U of M senior forward Jessica Limauro paced the Wolverine attack with one goal and one assist while junior Marie Spaccarotella, junior Emily Schmitt and freshman Laurie Peterson added the other goals for Michigan. Sophomore goalkeeper Carissa Stewart made six saves in recording the shutout as Michigan raised its overall record to 11-3-1, 5-3-1 in the Big Ten.
Michigan finished the game with an 18-8 edge in shot attempts and registered six corner kicks to MSU's three. U of M scored two goals in each half and saddled the the Spartans with their third straight setback.
"We just couldn't get it going in the first half and we paid for it," said MSU Head Coach Tom Saxton. "The goal we gave up late in the first half was a killer. You can't allow that to a good team like Michigan."
The loss leaves MSU's record at 2-10-2 overall, 0-8-1 in the Big Ten. The Spartans return to action on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 18) when they travel to Oakland University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
