Spartan Gymnasts Fall to No. 6 Ohio State

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's women's gymnastics team was defeated by No. 6 Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio 193.625-187.925. This was the Spartans first dual conference meet and third competition of the season.
For the third consecutive week, sophomore Melissa Green (East Lansing, Mich) and senior Carolyn Hecht (Baltimore, MD) led the Spartans, placing second and third in the all-around with a total score of 38.225 and 38.025, respectively. Green won floor exercise with a 9.825 while Hecht's score of 9.775 gave her first place on the balance beam.
Sophomore Elisabeth Forshier (South St. Paul, MN) captured second place on the vault with a season-best score of 9.850 on the vault for MSU.
Michigan State moves to 4-3 on the season. The Spartans will now return home for a dual meet against Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2pm.
