Men's Soccer Drops Road Contest to Bowling Green

EAST LANSING, MI - Bowling Green State University exploded for three second-half goals on Sunday in posting a 3-0 win over Michigan State in men's soccer action. The game was played at Mickey Cochrane Field on the BGSU campus.
Falcon midfielder Darren Niles scored what proved to be the game-winning goal for Bowling Green at 52:10. Other BGSU markers came from forward Bobby Biggs (60:17) and forward Chris Dore (72:05).
Both MSU and BGSU finished the match with 15 shot attempts while Falcons enjoyed a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. MSU sophomore goalkeeper T.J. Lieckfelt (Sterling Heights) made one save while his counterpart, Scott Vallow, registered four saves.
The setback leaves MSU's overall record at 6-8. The next action for the men's team will be on Sunday (Oct. 25) when it travels to Penn State for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
