Men's Swim Team Falls To Eastern Michigan, 146-97

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men?s swimming and diving team fell to Eastern Michigan 146-97, Saturday, Nov. 13, in their second dual meet of the season.
Juniors John Munley (Kalamazoo, Mich.) and Mike Tingley (Louisville, Ky.) and senior Casey Guntzviller (Wixom, Mich.) captured first-place finishes for the Spartans.
Munley won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:34.56 and finished second in the 100 freestyle event. Tingley took the 200 backstroke event with a time of 1:51.48. Guntzviller dominated the 3-meter dive with a score of 258.15.
Sophomore Aaron Mahaney (Easton, Pa.) scored for the Spartans with a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly event. Freshman Nick Visscher (Holland, Mich.) scored 257.93 points in the 1-meter dive for a second-place finish.
The Michigan State men?s swimming and diving team will be in action again on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 17-18, at the World Cup Series in Maryland. Munley will be representing the U.S. in the World Cup meet in Edmonton Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19-20.
