Michigan State Women's Swim Team Defeats Butler 115-82

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women?s swimming and diving team defeated Butler University 115-82 Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Senior Dianne Oliver (Louisville, Ky.) and sophomore Ildiko Szekely (Budapest, Hungary) each captured two first-place finishes for the Spartans. Oliver took first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. Szekely finished first in the 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley.
Other Spartan first-place finishers were freshmen Katie Duncombe (Erie, Pa.) and Deb O?Neil (Calisle, Pa.). Duncombe captured a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke and second in the 200 freestyle. Duncombe was also on the first-place 200 medley relay team along with teammates Catrin Lenfers (Hildesheim, Germany), Andrea Stewart (Trenton, Mich.) and Oliver.
The Michigan State women?s swimming and diving team will be in action again on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich., at 1 p.m.
