Michigan State Men's Swim Team Dominates Butler, 122-72

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men?s swimming and diving team beat Butler University 122-72, Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Juniors Chad Ganden (Lisle, Ill.), Mike Tingley (Louisville, Ky.) and senior Tom Goniea (Trenton, Mich.) each captured two first-place finishes for the Spartans.
Ganden won the 100- and 200-freestyle events, and was also on the first-place 200 medley relay team along with junior Tim Gendler (Ypsilanti, Mich.), junior Chris Koerner (Deerfield, Ill.) and sophomore Mike Robbins (Chesapeake, Va.). Tingley finished first in the 100 backstroke and 400 individual medley, while Goniea won the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle.
Sophomore Aaron Mahaney (Easton, Pa.) earned a first-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle. Junior John Munley (Kalamazoo, Mich.) scored for the Spartans with a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle.
The Michigan State women?s swimming and diving team will be in action again on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich., at 1 p.m.
